Context

CustomerzVoice is a SaaS tool that helps businesses collect and analyze customer feedback from multiple platforms (Trustpilot, G2, App Store, Play Store, etc.).

The product was powerful — but first-time users struggled. Instead of feeling empowered, they felt overwhelmed.

As the Product Designer, I led the redesign of the dashboard experience with one goal: Make customer feedback analysis as simple as adding a product and clicking a button.

The Challenge

  • The original dashboard suffered from three major problems:

  • Dense information overload → Raw data tables with no hierarchy.

  • No clear starting point → Users didn’t know what action to take first.

  • Fragmented flows → Multiple configurations were required before users could see any results.

  • For a first-time user, this meant friction and frustration — often before they saw the value of the tool.

Design Goals

  1. Simplify the user journey → Provide clear guidance from start to finish.

  2. Reduce cognitive overload → Show only what’s necessary at each step.

  3. Drive meaningful actions → Help users move from setup → reviews → insights in minutes.

Research & Insights

  • Heuristic Audit: Identified lack of progressive disclosure — everything was shown at once.

  • User Feedback: Merchants felt “lost” after signup and didn’t know where to start.

  • Competitive Analysis: Other tools dumped raw data; very few helped surface actionable insights.

Key Insight:

Users don’t want “all the reviews” — they want answers to problems hidden inside reviews.

The Redesign Approach

We restructured the entire experience into a guided 3-step flow:

  1. Add Product

  2. Fetch Reviews

  3. Analyze Insights

Each step builds confidence, reduces overwhelm, and nudges users toward discovering value faster.

Outcomes

Although the redesign was recently launched, early usability testing and product feedback showed:

Reduced onboarding confusion: Users completed first action (adding a product) 2x faster.
Better visual clarity: More users navigated to insights without external help.
Positive founder feedback: Clearer flows made it easier to showcase the product during early demos to clients/investors.
Scalability ready: Modular UI built to expand easily with more features later.
